One of Bill Gates' quotes, "The future is energy," serves as a message to us that emphasizes the core role and importance of energy. This energy penetrates all aspects of our daily lives and is a key component of a sustainable future. Therefore, our Department of Energy is passionate about education and research on innovative secondary batteries, solar cells, and semiconductor technologies based on the interactive mechanisms of overall energy production, conversion, storage and related systems, actively reflecting the changes and trends of the times.
This is possible through the participation of energy major professors with various scientific spectrums such as physics, chemistry, material engineering, and chemical engineering, and is operated as a creative and innovative multidisciplinary convergence system that integrates education, research, industry, and society. This maximizes academic effectiveness, and in addition to fostering talented people with proactive and preemptive problem-solving skills, this department focuses on establishing strategies that link the realization of the value of "student success." In addition, the focus will be on education and R&D in consideration of future climate change and national energy security, and will cultivate passfinder-type talents who can take the lead in research and industrial and social problems in the field of renewable energy.
Our members promise to solve the various energy problems facing countries around the world to explore a sustainable future, seize opportunities to develop our country into a top energy country and do our best to serve as an important bridgehead.
the SKKU Department of Energy aims to:
1. Establishing a Student-led Education System Course Design: Provide a variety of courses for students to develop their own educational pathways based on their interests and abilities. Establishment of an active participatory education system: Establishment of an educational system in which students can actively participate in various ways such as projects, discussions, research, and cooperation.
2. Implementation of convergence education from basic to application Basic Science: Students thoroughly understand the fundamental principles and theories of science, and strengthen their scientific thinking skills. Exploitation of the overall energy sector and the latest core areas: Acquire specialized knowledge in secondary battery, solar cell, and semiconductor technologies based on integrated energy systems (energy storage, conversion, production).
3. Development of problem-solving-led talent based on convergence education Training all-weather engineers: Training innovative energy integrated systems based on overall basic science and advanced applied technology training to train passfinder innovators who lead research/industry/social problems in the energy sector. Realizing Student Success Value and Cultivating Global Innovative Talent: Realizing Student Success Value through Innovative Education Program and Establishment of Organic Education-Research System, and Cultivating Global Innovative Talent to Lead the Energy Integration System Field globally.
